Codex
OpenAI’s coding agent, working in your project.
What it does
The Codex card opens OpenAI’s coding agent in your project, as a Deska task or in a terminal panel running the codex CLI. It runs on your own install and your own OpenAI account; Deska runs no model for it. In a task, the slash menu starts with /goal, /review, /compact and /init, and Codex’s skills run with $name. Codex reports its limits on every turn, so the usage gauge moves while it works.
Good for
- Getting a review of your changes with /review
- Running Codex beside another agent, each on its own git worktree
- Keeping a second Codex account as its own instance
How to add it
Install the Codex CLI and sign in with it. If it is not on this computer, the card says Not installed and offers Install, which runs the installer in a terminal panel. Its Opens as pick chooses between Task and Terminal.
