A real browser, right on the canvas.
Keep the dev server, the docs and the dashboard next to the code. Point at part of a page to ask Dex about it, bring your sign-ins over once, and let your agents check their own work.
Point at part of a page.Dex knows which part.
Press the crosshair in the address bar and click the element. The panel outlines what is under the pointer and names it as you move; the element lands on a card with a note field, and Ask Dex about this opens Dex with it written out.
- Dex also receives the selector, the React component when there is one, and the HTML.
- Pick several and ask about all of them at once.
- Your coding agents read the same picks through the preview tools.
Your sign-ins,brought over once.
The panel starts with its own empty cookie jar, so the first ones ask. Choose a browser lists the browsers on this computer, one row per profile, and from then on every browser panel opens the sites you use signed in, for you and for Dex.
- Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave, Firefox and Safari, or a JSON export.
- Read on your machine; nothing is uploaded.
- Import sign-ins in the ⋯ menu brings the card back any time.
Your agents checktheir own frontend.
Turn on Browser preview tools and a supervised agent can open a browser panel on your canvas, navigate, click, type and take a screenshot to look at what it built. You watch it happen instead of reading a description of it.
- The panel opens on the workspace the agent works in.
- It never takes focus, so you keep working elsewhere.
- The panel says Agent is driving while the run lasts.
What opens where
A link goes where it works best, not just where you clicked it.
- Pages and files
- Any address, and local file:// paths, in a browser panel with back, forward and reload.
- Links in a terminal
- Your dev server and the other links a terminal prints open in the project’s browser panel. Deska asks first by default.
- Sign-in links
- OAuth and sign-in pages open in your system browser, where those flows work.
- Videos and music
- YouTube, Twitch, SoundCloud and similar fill the panel edge to edge; a YouTube link opens the player itself.
A browser that waits where you left it.
Switch to another worktree or another project and come back to the same scroll position, the same half-typed form and the same signed-in dashboard. Only closing the panel ends it.
It never reloads behind your back
Scroll it off the canvas, switch worktree or project, and the page is where you left it. Only closing the panel ends it.
One profile for every panel
A sign-in made in one browser panel is shared by the others, and cookies and storage persist across restarts.
Video pauses off screen
Playback pauses when a panel scrolls out of view, to save CPU and bandwidth. The page itself keeps running.
