What's new

• A sleeping computer says so, and wakes. Asking a Deska Cloud box for your repositories while it naps used to read Lost the connection to that computer. It now says the machine is asleep and offers Wake it, then loads your repositories itself once it is up.
• Signing in to GitHub happens in place. A machine whose GitHub login is missing offers Sign in, which opens that computer’s accounts and closes again the moment it is signed in, with your repository list already loading behind it.
• A machine without the GitHub CLI stopped pretending. It used to ask you to sign in to something that was not there. It now says so and points at the git link door, which clones without it.
• No dead ends. Every one of these states now carries the other ways to start a project underneath it, so a door that cannot answer never leaves you with only a back arrow.
• Your cloud computer’s settings are one click away. The machine name at the top of Open a project opens a short list of your computers; when you are standing on a Deska Cloud box it now ends with a way straight into that machine’s own page.

• One page for coding agents. The Permissions settings page folded into Coding agents: the autonomy switches now live at the bottom of the same page, next to everything else about your agent CLIs. Old links still land.
• The page names its machine. Agent setups are per computer, and the page now says so: a machine pill under the title names the computer you are configuring.
• Your other computers are right there. The page closes with one row per machine on your account, each opening that computer’s own agent accounts, wake gate included.

• Dex works with nobody signed in, on Deska Cloud. A box’s opencode answers with a free model that needs no account, so a fresh box talks from the first minute. Deska plants it as one last rung in Who answers: it only speaks when everything ranked above it failed. Free models can be slower, and free providers may use prompts to improve their models; the rung says so where you configure it. Remove it once and it never comes back on its own.
• Signing in a coding agent adds it to the chain by itself. A newly signed-in CLI appends as a fallback with a notification saying so, instead of waiting in Settings to be remembered. Deleting what was added is permanent too.
• Who answers, one tap from the bar. The Dex bar’s settings popover grew a Who answers row: see the ranked chain, move a rung to the top, or jump to the full editor. A quiet label beside the gear names who answers next, free model included.
• The phone follows. The same free rung rides the phone’s ranking, the rung picker offers opencode’s free models on a box, and a new button in the Dex chat header opens his settings: voice, language and who answers.
• Tasks on a fresh box start on opencode. A new task on a Deska Cloud desk with no signed-in agent opens on the one agent that will actually run, and a delegated coding task stands in with opencode when your preferred agent is signed out where it launches.

• Settings on the phone is grouped now. The root screen stopped listing every toggle inline: Notifications, Devices and Dex each open as their own view, and the root keeps your profile, usage, appearance and the account links.
• Dex has a settings view on the phone. Pick his voice (Cove, Ember or Sage, with an audible preview), how loud he speaks, and the language he replies in, all in one place.
• Who answers, ranked from the phone. The desktop’s Dex ranking, on the phone: an ordered list of agents on your computers, dragged into the order you want. Dex tries it top to bottom and answers with the first one available, and a sleeping Deska Cloud computer is woken when the chain lands on it.
• An agent and model per rung. Tap a row to pick which coding agent answers on that machine, and which model, read live from the machine’s own catalog when it is connected. The same computer can appear twice with different agents.
• Point Dex somewhere for one conversation. The composer’s computer chip is now a per-conversation override: pick a machine and this conversation runs there, with no silent fallback; pick Automatic and Dex follows your ranking again.

• Push to talk is one held key now. Hold fn on macOS, speak, release to send. On Windows hold Ctrl+Win, on Linux the same chord as Ctrl+Super, still in beta on both. The old Option+Space and Shift+Option+Space chords retire.
• The talk key knows where you are. Held in a text field it types what you say at the cursor; held anywhere else it talks to Dex. A quick tap cancels, and Esc cancels a dictation before anything is sent.
• Double-tap for hands-free. A double-tap on the talk key opens a conversation with Dex that listens, answers and listens again; another double-tap ends it. Macs without an Apple fn key can pick Control+Option as the hold key in Settings → Keybindings.
• Shortcuts adopt the Cursor and VS Code standard. Cmd/Ctrl+L opens Dex (it used to be Cmd/Ctrl+T), Cmd/Ctrl+T starts a fresh thread like a new browser tab, and Cmd/Ctrl+I opens a new agent task draft.
• Approvals answer from the keyboard. In an agent approval card, Cmd/Ctrl+Enter approves and Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace declines. Requests that look destructive still take a mouse click.
• Your own bindings survive. Every chord stays rebindable, and anything you had customized carries through the update untouched.

• Browse under the search. Start from’s folder picker now lists a machine’s real folders level by level, on desktop and phone. A folder the search does not surface is still one tap away.
• A fresh computer is not a dead end. A machine with no projects says so and offers the exits in place: clone one of your repositories, clone from a link, or make a new folder.
• New folder. The machine creates the folder right where you are standing, starts a git repository in it when it can, and opens it as a project.

• Settings is a window now. It opens centred over the dimmed canvas instead of taking over the whole app. Esc, the close control or a click outside leaves it, and it reopens on the page you last visited.
• The rail starts with the pages you actually open. Quick access at the top, then Agents, Canvas and panels, and Tools, with your account as an identity card pinned at the bottom. Every page renders as grouped cards, label on the left, control on the right.
• Dex has a fallback chain. Who answers is a ranked list: coding agents on this computer, each optionally pinned to a model, and other computers of yours answering with their own signed-in agents. Dex tries it top to bottom each turn and answers with the first one available, and the reply says who answered when it was not your first choice.
• A sleeping cloud computer is woken on the way. The turn shows the wait, gives up after about 45 seconds and moves on. A rung can also ask first, so nothing is spent on it without a yes.
• When nothing can answer, Dex says why. The exact rung that failed and the reason, with a pointer to Settings → Dex.

• The empty Home is a decision now. On the phone and at app.deska.dev, an account with no computers used to read “No computer yet.” It now offers the two ways to get one, side by side: install Deska on a machine of yours, or start a computer of ours in Deska Cloud.
• Already paying for Deska Cloud with no box? The same screen creates the machine your plan includes, and holds an honest half-minute wait while it comes up. If you just paid, it also catches the rare case where the box was not created automatically and creates it itself.
• Buying from the phone returns to the phone. A checkout started in the app used to end on the desktop’s connect page. It now hands the browser straight back to where you were standing.
• No login flash on the way to pay. When the app opens a browser that signs itself in, the page now says what is happening and where it is taking you, instead of flashing a sign-in form that vanishes on its own.

• A computer has an Accounts screen. Claude Code, Codex, opencode and GitHub, on the machine itself, with whether each one is signed in and as whom. It is on the computer’s own page in the desktop and a screen of its own on the phone.
• Buying a Deska Cloud box opens it. The machine starts being built and the screen is already there, filling in as it comes up, so a purchase does not end with a computer you have to go and find.
• You can disconnect an account now. Previously the app told you which command to run yourself. It now runs that tool’s own sign-out on the machine and then checks: a tool that is somehow still signed in says so rather than pretending.
• Accounts are covered on screen. An email or a GitHub handle is masked until you tap it, on every surface that shows one.
• A computer with no agent says so where you already look. A row in the desktop’s update card, and the machine’s own line on the phone’s Home. Both open the accounts, and neither blocks anything.
• GitHub stops asking when it is already connected. The check read the wrong name for it, so a machine signed in for months kept being told to sign in.

• Buying Deska Cloud creates the machine. It used to only grant the right to one, and the box was born when you pressed Create in the desktop app. If you bought from the web or the phone there was no such button, so the computer you had paid for did not exist yet.
• Upgrading to Deska Cloud does the same. A renewal does not, so a box you deliberately deleted stays deleted.
• Your account page shows it. A Deska Cloud panel lists the machine, whether it is awake, where it runs and when it was last reached, and wakes it when it is asleep.

• Start free trial goes straight to checkout. The offer already told you the price and the terms, so it no longer sends you to a page that sells everything and asks you to choose the same plan a second time.
• Signed out, you sign in and land back on checkout. Nothing is lost on the way.
• The app knows the moment you have paid. A purchase started in Deska hands the result back to it, so the window you bought from stops showing the offer by itself.
• The phone takes the same path. One box, one way to buy it.

• Switching computers swaps the whole desk. The project list, the canvas, the panels, the tasks and the notes all belong to the machine you are standing on.
• Five terminals on a box are five terminals everywhere. Open the same computer from a second laptop, or from your phone, and you see the same panels with the same names.
• Opening a running terminal joins it. A second screen no longer starts a sixth shell beside the five that were already there.
• A cloud box has an Inbox on the desktop. Its tasks were visible only from the phone before; a task belongs to the computer that ran it, and now every screen shows it.
• Renaming a panel travels to the machine. Every screen picks up the new name instead of reverting a moment later.
• Closing a panel on a cloud box asks first. There the panel is its terminal, so closing it would end what is running.
• A sleeping computer is read-only, not blank. Its projects and panels stay on screen, a line says nothing new can start, and one press wakes it.
• Notes live on the computer you wrote them on. Walk to another machine and the library is that machine’s.
• Start from replaces “choose folder”, on the phone too. Open a folder that machine has, clone one of your repositories, or clone from a link — no path to type on a computer you cannot see.
• Signing an agent in from the phone has a Send button. Pasting from another app used to leave you with a filled field and nothing to press.

• 25% of every payment, for as long as it keeps coming. Send someone to Deska and you keep a quarter of what they pay, every month they stay.
• 30 days of attribution. The click is remembered for a month, so a developer who thinks it over still counts as yours.
• A calculator on the page. Pick a plan, move the slider, and see what the commission looks like over a year and over three.
• Paid through Stripe. Nothing to invoice and nothing to chase.

• Deska Cloud sells a second computer. Up to 5 per account, each a real separate machine with its own disk and its own agent sign-ins.
• The price is shown before anything is charged. Prorated from the day you add it, with the new monthly total named on the same screen as the button.
• Every computer gets its own row. Sleep, wake and remove each one on its own, in the crumb and in Settings, Account.
• Removing one stops billing for it. The unused part becomes a credit on your next invoice.
• Not during the free trial. The trial gives what the plan gives: one computer. Adding more waits until it becomes a paid plan.

• $0.00 due today. A card up front, nothing charged until the trial ends, and the date of that first charge on your account page from the moment you subscribe.
• Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing. One trial per account.

• The crumb now starts with a computer. It says local, because that is where Deska is running. Pick another machine and it names that one instead.
• Terminals open on the computer you picked. They keep running there after you close the panel, or close Deska: the terminal belongs to the machine, not to the window looking at it.
• You can read and edit the code on it. The file tree and the editor are the same ones you already use, pointed at that machine. Saving is guarded, so a file an agent changed on the machine is never silently overwritten by your buffer.
• You can see what changed, and commit it. Source Control reads the branch, the diff and the history of the repository on that machine, and staging, committing, pushing and pulling all run there.
• The phone reads code too. Open a computer and its files are one tap away: browse the folders and read any file, with the same computer running your agents in the background.
• What a machine cannot do says so. A panel that machine cannot serve is dimmed with the reason, instead of disappearing from the list.
• Switching does not move your work. Everything already open stays where it was running, and each panel keeps the computer it belongs to.

• Your agents are already on it. Claude Code, Codex, opencode and the GitHub CLI come installed, and you sign each one in from your phone. The sign-in happens on the machine, so your accounts never pass through us.
• A new plan with a computer of ours in it. $29 a month, or $278 a year: everything in Deska Pro, plus one dedicated machine that is yours alone.
• Your agents keep working while your laptop is closed. The cloud computer shows up beside your own machines and your phone reaches it the same way.
• It sleeps when nothing is running and wakes when you reach for it. The disk survives sleeping, so it comes back as the same computer.
